Hitting at school
Ian's been hitting his teacher aide, they're doing a reward system at school to help but I'm not sure how to help as he doesn't seem to associate doing wrong with punishment. Any suggestions?
Re: Hitting at school
I wish I knew the answer - DD1 went through a phase of biting, and every so often will start biting again. We just tell her firmly "no biting" and get her to repeat it back to us, and we think it sinks in because she stops biting (for a bit!!). Maybe it could work with hitting? Or is that too basic for Ian? Have you tried picture cues? Social story??

For the moment I've gone back to reminding him each morning as I kiss him goodbye to "listen, concentrate and use safe hands"; hoping that will help. Not much else I can do from here.

Aw I feel for you. Chris hit and bit at the beggining of last year. I was mortified. He bit and hit other kids in the playground
Not much help I know, but he did stop. We punished him at home for it (which his teacher said we didnt need to, but i felt i wanted to reinforce that the behaviour was not acceptable at home also) so he lost toys or privelages, but only for a day.
He has not (touch wood) done it at all at his new school. So heres hoping its a phase. I hope you come up with a solution. Sorry no help here really
