I wish I had a crystal ball to see if Mikko would get ORS funding or not. Our local school where Finn goes had a special ed. unit for ORS kids. I can't decide if I want Mikko to go in their or not. I feel like he would cope with mainstream learning as he doesn't have many sensory issues. He would definately need teacher aide help though.

Did you find any helpful stuff on TNN to influence your decision?
So hard aye. i think sometimes having more than one option makes it harder
Do you know any of the other ASD Mums at the school - just thinking that talking to them could give you an honest view of how things run. Might help your decision a bit.
Good luck.

I think it is DEFINATELY the options that have me stressed about it! We are so lucky really that we live in an area with many great schools which families flock to I think I am just the type of person who will worry that I have made the wrong choice and I don't really want to be changing schools every few years either.
Our EIT has said that at around 4.3 year she/ we will have a better idea of whether he will be able to cope with a mainstream classroom. My feeling is that he would cope but I don't know if 'coping' is enough.
eta was really interesting the results of the poll in TNN. I had thought that with the way 'they' seem to be there that inclusive ed. would have won by a landslide!
Re: I have 1 year!
I found out that one of my old school friends (thanks facebook!) has a daughter with aspergers, who is at the school I want to send William. Even more amped about trying to get in, now!
